On This Day: Peterborough United 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday

On this day back in 2013, Wednesday were defeated by Peterborough United in a crucial game at the bottom of the league.

This second to last game of the season meant Wednesday would have to leave it until the last day to secure their Championship status.

The game would be decided in the sixty-fourth minute with Grant McCann scoring a beautiful free kick.

Grant McCann scored the winner for Peterborough.

Despite this result, the Posh would still be relegated to League 1 after a 3-2 to Crystal Palace on the final day where they remain to this day.

Wednesday secured survival the next game against Middlesbrough.
