Match preview: Sheffield Wednesday vs Cardiff City

After an impressive victory over Newcastle United on Saturday, Wednesday will be looking for another three points against mid-table Cardiff City.

Cardiff themselves head into the game on the back of a win after defeating Brentford 2-1 on Saturday. The reverse fixture between these two ended 1-1 after Daniel Pudil cancelled out Peter Whittingham’s early free-kick.

The Bluebirds’ last visit to Hillsborough is a memorable one as the Owls secured a play-off position with an emphatic 3-0 victory. Gary Hooper scored a brace and could have had a hat-trick but the goal was put down as a Lee Peltier own goal.
