Match preview: Aston Villa vs Sheffield Wednesday

After a disappointing midweek draw to Burton Albion, the Owls will be looking to get back to winning ways at Villa Park.

As mentioned, Wednesday picked up a point midweek at home to Burton Albion who will be much happier with the result. Two wonderful goals from Ross Wallace and Jackson Irvine saw the game finish 1-1.

Villa also had a disappointing result as they were defeated 1-0 by Huddersfield Town. Tommy Smith’s goal was enough to separate the sides at The John Smith’s Stadium.

The Owls haven’t visited Villa Park since 2001 when they won 1-0 in the League Cup. The reverse fixture of this game also ended 1-0 to Wednesday. Fernando Forestieri scored an 85th minute winner.
